Es ist nicht verwunderlich, dass die Popularit\u00e4t von Paul Temple in den 1940er-Jahren zu st\u00e4ndigen W\u00fcnschen nach weiteren Heldentaten f\u00fchrte. So entstand ein Paul-Temple-Comicstrip, der sechs Tage pro Woche in den London Evening News erschien und im gesamten Vereinigten K\u00f6nigreich publiziert und auch international ausgewertet wurde. Die erste Folge erschien am 11. Dezember 1950 und die Serie lief bis zum 1. Mai 1971, als der Cartoon nach einigen Unstimmigkeiten eingestellt wurde, weil ein BBC-Regisseur in einer Folge der Paul-Temple-Fernsehserie versehentlich gezeigt hatte, wie Temple eine Ausgabe des konkurrierenden London Evening Standard las, was bei den Eigent\u00fcmern der London Evening News nicht gut ankam.<\/p>\n

Die Comicstrip-Geschichten wurden zun\u00e4chst von Francis Durbridge geschrieben, sp\u00e4ter von anderen Autoren unter seiner Aufsicht. Als Illustrator fungierte zun\u00e4chst von Alfred Sindall, der 1952 von Bill Bailey und 1954 von Philip Mendoza abgel\u00f6st wurde, bevor John McNamara 1956 die Illustration des Strips bis zum Ende der Serie \u00fcbernahm.<\/p>\n

Zehn der Cartoon-Geschichten des Strips wurden als Taschenbuch von Micron Publications unter dem Titel The Paul Temple Library ver\u00f6ffentlicht und sind heute begehrte Sammlerst\u00fccke.<\/p>\n
