Im \u00fcbrigen Europa wurden Francis Durbridges Radio- und Fernsehserien regelm\u00e4\u00dfig ausgestrahlt, wobei im Falle des Fernsehens die BBC-Serien manchmal in die Landessprache synchronisiert wurden.<\/p>\n

Durbridges Arbeit erwies sich in Skandinavien als sehr popul\u00e4r, denn in D\u00e4nemark wurden mindestens drei Paul-Temple-H\u00f6rspielserien produziert und in Finnland und Schweden gab es Fernsehverfilmungen von \u201eThe Scarf\u201c und \u201eMelissa\u201c.<\/p>\n

Auch in Polen wurde Francis Durbridge zu einem bekannten Namen, da dort zwischen 1970 und 1976 sieben seiner Fernsehmehrteiler verfilmt wurden. Alle wurden von Kazimierz Piotrowski ins Polnische \u00fcbersetzt, vier wurden von Jan Bratkowski (1931-2015) inszeniert. Es war die Zeit des Eisernen Vorhangs und dem polnischen Fernsehen war es nicht gestattet, Zahlungen f\u00fcr Fernsehrechte ins Ausland zu \u00fcberweisen, sodass viele Schriftsteller zu dieser Zeit \u00fcber Gelder in Polen verf\u00fcgten, die auf gesperrten Konten lagen und auf die sie keinen Zugriff hatten. Leider verf\u00fcgte die britische Regierung, dass all diese Gelder im Vereinigten K\u00f6nigreich zu versteuern waren, auch wenn kein Zugriff darauf m\u00f6glich war. Da Francis Durbridge zu dieser Zeit der erfolgreichste Fernseh- und Rundfunkautor Europas war, zahlte er im Vereinigten K\u00f6nigreich den h\u00f6chsten Steuersatz von \u00fcber 80 %. Jede polnische Produktion kostete ihn daher Geld und er beschloss 1976, dass er sich die Lizenzierung lokaler Produktionen nicht mehr leisten konnte. Diese Produktionen sind jedoch nach wie vor beim Fernsehen beliebt. Zwei davon wurden 2022 im polnischen Fernsehen wiederholt.<\/p>\n

Anderswo in Europa wurden zwar keine Fernseh- und Radioserien produziert, aber die Romane, die auf seinen Serien basierten, wurden immer wieder in anderen Sprachen wie Spanisch, Portugiesisch, Slowakisch, Russisch, Slowenisch oder Bosnisch\/Kroatisch\/Serbisch ver\u00f6ffentlicht.<\/p>\n
