Holland war f\u00fcr Francis Durbridge ein Markt, der im krassen Gegensatz zu Frankreich stand. W\u00e4hrend der Autor in Frankreich vor allem durch seine Fernsehserien bekannt wurde, waren es in Holland seine Paul-Temple-H\u00f6rspiele, die ihm gro\u00dfe Popularit\u00e4t einbrachten. Allerdings gab es nie niederl\u00e4ndische TV-Verfilmnungen.<\/p>\n

Zu dem fr\u00fchen Erfolg Paul Temples in den Niederlanden trug zweifellos bei, dass Francis Durbridge einen enthusiastischen holl\u00e4ndischen Agenten, Albert Milhado (1910-2001), hatte, der ihn viele Jahre lang vertrat.<\/p>\n

\u201eSend for Paul Temple\u201c wurde im Februar 1939 im niederl\u00e4ndischen AVRO-Radio ausgestrahlt, nur acht Monate nach der ersten BBC-Ausstrahlung. \u00dcbersetzt von J. C. Van der Horst und produziert von Kommer Kleijn (1893-1982) spielte Leo Frankel die Rolle des Paul Temple, dessen Name f\u00fcr das niederl\u00e4ndische Publikum in Paul Vlaanderen ge\u00e4ndert wurde. Steve hie\u00df nun Ina und wurde von Lily Boumeester gespielt. Aufgrund des gro\u00dfen Erfolges folgte nur wenige Monate sp\u00e4ter eine niederl\u00e4ndische Version von \u201ePaul Temple and the Front Page Men\u201c, die vom gleichen Team umgesetzt wurde.<\/p>\n

Die n\u00e4chste Serie, \u201eNews of Paul Temple\u201c war jedoch wegen des Krieges die letzte f\u00fcr mehrere Jahre, da nur 4 Folgen ausgestrahlt werden konnten, bevor Deutschland in Holland einmarschierte und die H\u00f6rer auf die Aufl\u00f6sung warten mussten, bis 1946 eine neue Version ausgestrahlt wurde. Viele Jahre lang war das englische Originalmanuskript von \u201eNews of Paul Temple\u201c verschollen und in den Archiven der BBC nicht auffindbar. Im Jahr 2022 wurde jedoch ein Satz der niederl\u00e4ndischen Skripte in einem niederl\u00e4ndischen Archiv gefunden, so dass einer der \u201cverschollenen\u201c Temples nun wieder gelesen werden kann.<\/p>\n

Nach dem Krieg wurden zwischen 1947 und 1966 weitere siebzehn niederl\u00e4ndische Serien sowie drei k\u00fcrzere Paul-Temple-St\u00fccke produziert (eines davon war \u201eOver My Dead Body\u201c, eine Geschichte, die urspr\u00fcnglich gar nicht Temple zum Protagonisten hatte, aber zum Paul-Temple-St\u00fcck umgeschrieben wurde), diesmal jedoch von einem neuen Team, das mit dem Regisseur Kommer Kleijn zusammenarbeitete. Die Rolle des Paul Vlaanderen wurde von Jan van Ees (1896-1966) \u00fcbernommen und Eva Janssen (1911-1996) spielte Ina. Sie traten in allen siebzehn Serien auf, die in Holland ein gro\u00dfer Erfolg waren. Die Serien wurden bis 1953 von J. C. van der Horst und danach von Johan Bennik (einem Pseudonym von Jan van Ees) \u00fcbersetzt. Alle wurden von Kommer Kleijn inszeniert, mit Ausnahme der letzten drei, bei denen Dick van Putten Regie f\u00fchrte.<\/p>\n

Der Erfolg von Paul Temple f\u00fchrte auch dazu, dass andere Francis-Durbridge-H\u00f6rspiele f\u00fcr das Radio produziert wurden, darunter \u201eWhat Do You Think?\u201c (1977), \u201ePassport to Danger\u201c (1985) und \u201eMr. Lucas\u201c (1988).<\/p>\n
